No burgers but great chicken wings. Open only Friday and Saturday nights.
food sucked and over priced, and of course they CLOSED!
I didn't get to use the Groupon I purchased. The Groupon states it must be used Monday-Thursday. Before I had a chance to use it, the restaurant changes their hours and are only open Fridays and Saturdays. We showed up to eat one Monday night and found the restaurant closed. The Groupon expired. No deal.😣
I never actually got to try the Groupon I purchased for Jax. On three separate occasions I went to the place to find them either closed for the season, closed during normal days of operation (Sunday-Monday) or closed during their regular operating hours (went on Friday night about 8:30 and their kitchen was closed while they served beer to the music crowd). I wondered if this place is ever open as I certainly didn't get to experience it!
1st they closed all winter, then reopen (but only on Fri. & Sat. nights). We eat low carb so we figured we'd just order a burger w/o the bun, but come to find out "Jax burgers" doesn't even serve burgers...seems like a BBQ joint is taking over? I dunno. Anyway, we ordered the brisket sandwich w/o bun + cheese & 6 wings (no drinks) & it was >$20! This is all the food we got for the $11.99 sandwich
Only serves ALCOHOL, food is brought in from another BBQ place. wasn't hot, dry
Not open Mon/Thur as advertised in the Groupon. Only SOMETIMES Friday and Saturday!!
We enjoyed the Lakeside Live entertainment as we ate.
From Our Editors
Burgers and brews. It's a time-tested combination, and one that the cooks at Jax Burgers and Brews have mastered to tasty perfection. At this laid-back burger joint, you'll find plenty of two-handed sandwiches, as well as the pints required to wash them down. Read on to learn more:
- The Burgers: Each Jax burger begins with a half-pound patty of certified Angus beef. From there, chefs top each one with a host of specialty ingredients: the El Diablo includes ghost pepper jack cheese and pickled jalapenos, while the Duke adds a generous heap of pulled pork, aged cheddar, and crispy onions. Burgers also come in build-you-own form, with numerous bun, topping, and patty options that include everything from jerk chicken and ground lambs to texas toast, chimichurri, and hot bacon jam.
- The Brews: The team at Jax takes its beer as seriously as it takes its burgers. You'll find a robust selection of regional craft favorites arrayed in the bar's taps and coolers, including entries from Kentucky Ale, Rhinegeist, Ethereal, and more. Non-beer options also thrill: try a hard milkshake spiked with a little something extra, or a straight-up cocktail from the well-stocked bar.
