We decided to give IHop one more try...last visit there was not good and this one wasn't any better. Besides for the cold coffee to the very hard toast the servers were very unprofessional. We could hear all their conversations to each other and their arguments...this happened the last time also, it makes the customers very uncomfortable. WE WILL NOT BE BACK TO IHop on North 27th Street in Lincoln, NE

I would like my bacon cooked crispier. It was floppy bacon. I also think service is very slow. From the time we ordered and received our food, it was half an hour. That time is a common time...we rarely get our food quickly.

service was not stellar. Server was not rude, but she wasn't particularly friendly, didn't smile much nor did she clear our table when we were clearly finished. She didn't use a tray so when drinks were brought out water some spilled on the table that she never addressed in either apology or cleaning. She never checked back to see how our food was and did not instruct us how to pay (up front, with her, etc.). She only refilled my empty drink when she dropped the check. We were there a Saturday afternoon when it was kind of busy, but there were plenty of people there, no one seemed stressed. Another server ended up clearing our table for us.

I stopped one time with my Dad, he wanted something that they had been advertising on TV. I had a discount coupon and was told you could not use it for anything that was a specialty item. so we just left and ate some place else. Dad never went back. I started taking him to another Pancake House closer to where he lived.

Food was acceptable but nothing to write home about. I prefer Village Inn. Location is the downer for us.

I feel that it is pretty expensive for breakfast. It was 25 dollars for the two of us. That seems like a lot for a basic breakfast.

The waitress was very good but service was poor. I should never spend a hour and a half in a restaurant for breakfast type food that takes little time to prepare.

From Our Editors

The first IHOP—the dream of founders Al and Jerry Lapin—opened in 1958 in Toluca Lake, California, and was originally dubbed the "International House of Pancakes." Since then, rapid expansion has led to myriad milestones across the company's colorful history, from introducing its modern IHOP acronym in 1973 to its 1,000th restaurant opening in Layton, Utah, in 2001. Today, the company stands strong with around 1,500 locations across North and Central America, each one an enthusiastic dispenser of pancakes, french toast, and tables constructed entirely out of bacon. Though IHOP is known as a bastion of breakfast, it also stays open during the day and into the evening, delivering lunch and dinner as well.
