LASIK vision institute gives a great product at a great value. The staff was amazing, very friendly and helpful. I received lasik with the contoura option and had 20/15 vision the next day with little to no discomfort. If you’re on the fence, go for it you won’t regret it!

While the staff was very kind and thorough, the Groupon itself DID NOT pay for everything required for the LASIK surgery. We had to pay an extra $200/eye for a "plug" in each eye that is not stated as being required anywhere on the Groupon. In fact, at the 1st appointment, it was mentioned as an optional item, but at the appointment right before the surgery, it was stated that those HAD to be purchased. I had even called the LASIK Institute before purchasing the Groupon and they did NOT mention any additional required costs.

This is a true and honest review based on my experience at the Tulsa and OKC location. I am a 28 year old female with (previously) -6.75 vision in both eyes. I've been a consistent contact wearer most of my life. I purchased the Groupon and then was able to use my HSA to cover the remaining balance - getting Lasik was something I've been wanting to do forever but cost was a hindrance. It was easy to get a consultation at the office in Tulsa. My initial visit was on a Saturday and I'd say start to finish was two hours. I didn't have to wait too long before being seen, they dilate your eyes, and we went over options. Because of my prescription I opted for PRK which was still covered under the Groupon. The office staff was super friendly. The gentleman that went over my vision talked EXTREMELY fast so if you're someone that likes to walk through things, be prepared for that. They do tell you about the punctual plugs and the lifetime warranty thing, but I declined both. She was not super pushy and I am now very glad I did not spend the extra money. The surgery dates are kind of annoying - they're random Thursdays or Saturdays in Tulsa, or "almost every Friday" in OKC. Because of surgery dates (and me wanting to wear my glasses for as little time as possible), I decided to do the surgery on a Friday in OKC. It is the same doctor at both, Dr. Belardo (not fast talker guy). I waited about an hour and fifteen minutes before being taken back to begin surgery prep. I did not opt for Valium but it was offered. They check your eyes, put you in booties and a hair cap, and sit you in a small room while you wait for your turn. The surgery room is VERY cold. They put numbing drops in your eyes, wait a few minutes, put in more drops and begin. Surgery was so fast, painless, and easy. It's more nerve wracking than anything but definitely nothing to be anxious about. After maybe 8 minutes I was off of the table. Vision was weird walking around after, but they gave me my super cool sunglasses and bag and out I went. Recovery was rough - three days of barely being able to open my eyes and constant watering. Monday I could open them but it was very blurry, but better than before surgery. Every day gradually got better. By the next Friday, one week post op, I'd say I was 80% clear. One month post op I was 20/20, almost 20/15. I did my follow up appointments in Tulsa again with fast talker guy. I have not had halos, light bursts, and little dry eye (I admittedly am not good about remembering the lube drops). Night vision was a little hard the first two weeks. Get the surgery. It's life changing.

From Our Editors

If you're willing to let someone operate on your eyes with a laser, what's the one thing they better have? Steady hands are important, sure, but how about experience? All told, The LASIK Vision Institute's doctors have performed more than 1.1 million eye surgeries at over 80 locations nationwide. Across its network, the company has independent veteran surgeons who are all LASIK experts.
Technology has played a major role in LVI’s success, as well. Each location relies on FDA-approved laser technology that results in minimal discomfort and short recovery times, in addition to helping many patients see 20/20 or better.
