As a former collegiate rower, NSCA-certified personal trainer Lindsay Pollock has an affinity for functional fitness. So it's no surprise she took an interest in CrossFit, which revolves around a daily workout consisting of functional movements. Think pull-ups, box jumps, sprints, and other exercises that could come in handy when you see a mouse. Newcomers and regulars alike can participate in the scalable workouts, moving at their own pace as they build strength and endurance. Pollock and her team of fellow CrossFit Level 1–certified coaches unveil the workouts each morning at CrossFit 213. They augment the headliner classes with yoga sessions and no-workouts-barred open gyms.
