While working as a chemist at a nuclear-power plant, Amy Nelson witnessed firsthand how her coworkers were affected by their lifestyle—spending both time and money on health issues when they arose rather than focusing on prevention. That experience carved another path that she would follow: a career as a licensed naturopathic doctor. Today, Dr. Nelson dispenses herbal, hydrotherapy, nutritional, and homeopathic techniques to help patients alleviate symptoms of more than 45 conditions, including Crohn’s disease, tendonitis, and headaches. She is also a strong advocate of equine therapy, which helps clients learn to cope and develop mental-emotion balance.
