When Jordan Hemphill first picked up a guitar at age 11, his biggest inspirations were the swirling solos of metal artists like Metallica's Kirk Hammett. A student of other rockers, such as Megadeth's Chris Broderick, Jordan has gigged regularly in rock and metal bands for more than 10 years. Yet, he's also carved a niche for himself as a classical guitarist, setting a relaxing tone at private events and weddings by performing classical, Spanish, and jazz compositions.
At Hemphill Music, he draws upon his diverse musical interests to teach students of all ages and styles. While building private, in-home lessons around the songs each pupil wants to learn, Jordan subtly introduces important musical concepts, such as theory and technique. Besides lessons, Jordan coaches budding artists in refining their live performances, from hitting the right notes to not playing guitar with their teeth if they have a cavity.
