From Our Editors
With Spartan interior design and shades that covered the main windows, Sushi Zo appears to be missing many of the accoutrement that take up space in other sushi establishments. Instead, the focus is on the fish, almost religiously so. Their seafood zealotry has certainly paid off; the sushi restaurant achieved Michelin star status in 2009, thanks to its impressive omakase menu. It’s a favorite for anniversary dinners, birthday celebrations or other special occasions, and the restaurant’s no cell phone policy encourages attention to both fellow diners and the fish itself. It’s not for the unadventurous – California Rolls are not a part of the vocabulary here – but sushi aficionados and foodniks who appreciate a chef at the top of their game keep Zo busy.
