One fateful night in the 1930s, a theater owner’s wife stepped in as Magii the Magician’s assistant. The dark magician placed her in his vanishing box, from which she never reappeared. The tragedy forced the theater to shut down. Now, as Bloody Disgusting reports, the spirits of the magician and his disciples roam the theater, searching for volunteers to assist with similarly deadly tricks. According to the Los Angeles Times, the 40-minute tour traverses the “inner bowels and upper floors of the six-story [theater] before finally reaching the stage.”
The petrifying experience takes place in the historic Variety Arts Theatre, which has hosted famous entertainers and historical titans such as Clark Gable and Eleanor Roosevelt. Though it caters to guests aged 12 and older after dark, The Blumhouse Of Horrors hosts daytime lights-on hours on select dates and times for younger children. Please see the website for more info.
