The Cat & Fiddle Restaurant and Pub is a longtime Hollywood favorite, located right on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood. The rollicking space has just enough of a British accent to make it charming, while the outsized patio space in front does the rest perfectly. Partially shielded and set back from the street, it’s the courtyard that most people come for, lazing about with friends while they sip on draft beer and listen to the fountain. The building itself was once a 1920s movie studio, and part of Casablanca was shot on site. Inside there’s lots of wood, a fireplace and Brittania décor, and the menu is similarly laced with traditional English favorites. That means Scotch eggs, bangers and mash, Welsh rarebit and the usual American affair of burgers and fries. English ales and ciders are always flowing, particularly on St. Patrick’s Day.
