Had a pastrami on rye - really missed a good NY deli sandwich so I went to Tommy Pastrami. The largest sandwich is not a typical overflowing sandwich belly buster you would get in NY. It was good but not great. Closes at 7pm unfortunately

Once you've gone to Langer's, this place becomes very disappointing. I wouldn't recommend anything other than the fries.

I work in downtown L. A. and there are many good restaurant options, with more on the way. Unfortunately, Tommy Pastrami, which had a decent pastrami sandwich and a nice chicken soup when it first opened, has cut all the corners. Last time I was there I ordered the chicken salad sandwich. The chicken salad used to be respectable. Now it is a baby food mash with no sign of any chicken. For the same price, Maries on 7th Street has a good sandwich. Or for just another buck or two, go next store to Kitchen Faire.

Great corned beef... with brown mustard. The food is legitimate NY deli. And they offer a smaller size of their deli sandwiches which is a nice alternative. The rye is super fresh and delicious. The tuna is good and so is the matzo ball soup.
