Stepping into Wirtshaus is a bit like being transported to a Bavarian pub. The atmosphere is lively and inviting, the dishes are hearty and filling, and don‰Ûªt even think about ordering a Budweiser‰ÛÓthe 35 or so available beers are almost exclusively German and Austrian. The dining room is outfitted with rustic wooden tables, while the walls are adorned with beer coasters, Alpine scenes and a cuckoo clock for good measure. Hard-to-find German specialties like veal schnitzel, elk goulash and wild boar sausage are the focus here; however, true to Wirtshaus‰Ûª Hollywood locale, vegetarians are thrown a (metaphorical) bone with kale salad and veggie sausage. The sixteen brews on tap can be ordered in pints, liters, or for the truly ambitious, a two-liter boot. After dinner, work off some calories at the ping pong table in back.
