While playing hockey at the age of 18, Dr. Shawn Martin began experiencing pain in his lower back. A natural athlete, Martin sought help from his family doctor, but found only minor relief from his pains. It wasn’t until his grandfather took him to a chiropractor that Martin found relief from his condition, as well as a new calling in life––to help others to live lives free of pain.
After studying at Palmer College of Chiropractic, he spent seven months traveling to Thailand, Cambodia, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, and Peru living as a local and delivering chiropractic care to hundreds who may not have had access to it otherwise. Today, his practice sees patients as young as 1 day old and as wise as 97 years of age, who seek out his staff's expertise in everything from spinal adjustments and active therapies to massage. Holding degrees in chiropractic and biology, and certified with the Acupuncture Society of America, Dr. Martin also enjoys educating the community through health classes and staged readings of his spine-theme haikus.
