When the chefs at Papalino's Pizza say their pizzas are fresh, that isn't just lip service. At this locally owned pizza pub, pie experts use ingredients that are never frozen, cure their own meats, and even make dough from scratch instead of simply picking it from one of Kentucky's many dough trees. The result is a robust lineup of handcrafted specialty pies, including the signature Righteous Pig, which, according to the menu, is stacked with "every piece of the pig" chefs can find: bacon, sausage, meatballs, pepperoni, and ham. Vegetarians needn't worry—the veggie pie answers greener cravings with mixed mushrooms, sauteed spinach, green peppers, and fresh roma tomatoes. In addition to its pies, Papalino's is also home to Italian favorites such as calzones and meatball subs, as well as salads, desserts, and a collection of craft beers.
