Safiyyah Rasool has trained under renowned hip-hop choreographers and created routines all over the country. But her dancing history goes farther back than you'd expect: "I've been dancing since I was in the belly," she exclaims on her website. Today, she molds students of her own at her self-named studio, working alongside her team of fellow instructors.
Whether dancers want to get trim with Zumba, try a new hobby, start a career, or just hope to pirouette everywhere instead of walking, Safiyyah and her team have a suitable class. They cover styles from ballet to fusions of hip hop and jazz. They don't just teach lessons, though—they also host dance camps, birthday parties, and a competitive hip-hop dance series called "The Battlezone."
