If you couldn't already tell by the name, Cowboy Ryan's Gym's 28-minute program is based off of actual cowboy riding principles, even folding actual rodeo fences into the workouts. The workout is so atypical that it's been featured on Shark Tank and in such publications as Forbes.
But don't be fooled into thinking the whole thing a novelty—by climbing, hoisting, and stepping on the fences, as well as performing other functional movements, participants engage up to 600 different muscles during the course of the high-intensity, ever-changing regimen. And to up the motivation factor, each participant earns colored wristbands the more they attend and the more pounds they lose, eventually earning the top honor: the Cowboy Leadership band. Furthermore, exercisers receive an email after every workout that lists the calories they lost and their average heart rate, allowing them to easily keep track of their progress.
