There were some interesting things about this "class" but it was very short and the guy wasn't very patient or friendly in his "teaching" so overall I would not recommend it.

Tried to set up an appointment multiple times to be told I had to book at least a month in advance... my girlfriend gets a new work schedule every week so booking a month in advance is useless... so I just essentially threw my money away because I will never be able to book that far in advancce... what a joke... PS I've been in the glass industry for 13 years and only bought this to show my girlfriend the experience in a non production Warehouse environment... I could teach lessons TO this guy since I trained under the mistro's from murano Italy in corning NY.... felt disrespected the way I was treated...

The owner was very funny while he tried to teach us. We had a great time & I do plan to go back again. It was amazing to me to watch him. I couldn't believe how hot the ovens were.

The instructor was not patient, did not give a lot of initial instruction and was very rough when you didn't do what he needed you to do right away. I understand we were working with hot objects, but there was no patience or finesse with his instructions. 30-40 mins is too quick, Also, his place is in a garage and it's very dirty and unorganized. I came to pick up our stuff the next day and he had already forgotten me and there was no labeling of other peoples art work. Luckily I remembered what ours looked like and corrected his mistake of handing me someone else's work.

My son and I had a ball. It was a great learning experience. It didn't take as long as I expected, but well worth it.

My fiancé and I had a lot of fun at this class (and watching the much more experienced guy who had a class after us). It's obvious that Dan really loves glass blowing and wants to share his knowledge with others. You will be working with molten glass, so if you are doing something wrong, Dan will correct you quickly and often. If you are easily offended or overly sensitive, this kind of fast paced learning may not be best for you. I had no problem with it and completely understood his style; he's trying to keep his students safe while still affording them a hands on learning experience.

From Our Editors

With 28 years of experience in glass blowing, Dan Daggett knows how to carefully work with red-hot glass as it glows and twists in a furnace. At his Loveland studio, Daggett spins vases, perfume bottles, bowls, paperweights, sculptures, and platters, and he leads classes to share his craft with aspiring glass blowers. During classes, he introduces pupils to the basics of working with liquid glass and the required safety measures. While you’re in the studio, you’ll be able to take a peek at Dan’s own work—like artistic vases and sleek paperweights ideal for keeping kites from violating house arrest.
