It was very poorly organized. The vendors weren't prepared for the amount of people that showed up. I would not go back to this event.

the entire event was completely crowded because the venue should have been twice as large. Most of the samples were already given away and there were still 5 hours left in the event. Every single booth had a huge line. Event was poorly organized and overall a very unpleasant experience

We drove two hours to it and waited in a very long line just to be told that samples were running out. After spending two hours in lines we each got two samples of candy. Total waste of time and money. The most unorganized event ever!!! I was so embarrassed about inviting people to go and they all had a miserable time.

It is a new festival, so I'm sure there are kinks to work out. But I don't feel that the disorganization can be attributed to newness. It was overcrowded, the vendors were running out of samples, and the value of the tickets was not consistent from booth to booth.

This was the most unorganized festival I've ever attended. We arrived two hours after the doors opened and the lines to receive samples were ridiculously long. Some were more than 30 mins. Then when you finally got up to the sample table there were minimal samples if there were any. Multiple vendors were out of samples and/or product for sale. The space was way too small for the event. I've been to the chocolate festival in Seattle three years running and will say that it's 10x better than this one. I'll never attend this again.

The line into the festival was our first warning something was wrong. How does the prepaid line move slower than the cash and credit? After 45 minutes in line we were finally in. Yay, more lines. It was a poorly organized event. While samples were delicious they seemed to be few and far between making lines ridiculous. 1 hr wait for samples. This could have been fun. Needs improvements.

I was really disappointed! Small space, too many people, and vendors charging two tickets for a tiny piece of chocolate. Experienced this festival in Colorado Springs a few years ago and it was a much more pleasant experience.

From Our Editors

The Colorado Chocolate Festival makes celebrating Mother's Day weekend almost too easy. After all, what better way to show mom your love than by whisking her away to a chocolate paradise? The Denver Merchandise Mart transforms into just that on Friday and Saturday May 12–13, its 30,000 square feet filled with truffles and imported chocolate bars. Some visitors show off their chocolate culinary chops in a Chocolatier Championships competition with goods brought from their home or shop. Others show off their chocolate eating chops in a timed contest—whoever eats the most chocolate kisses in one minute wins a crown (made of chocolate, naturally).
