Excellent -- very fresh as everything is prepared while you are waiting
Bought an $8 groupon for $16 worth of food. Ended up spending another $16 on top of the $8, just for our family of 4. The food was decent, but they were out of some ingredients, and the service was slow, unprofessional, and unfriendly. Disappointed!
lady got mad & was rude bc I questioned how she rang up order & entered groupon. I was calm I ordered 7.49 in food and she still wanted over $1.12 when I had an $8 groupon. She went in back ignoring my request for 2nd order until cook urged her back
The fries seasoning was not pleasant and I was hoping for more substance in my melt.
Soup tasted canned.
I ordered sour dough bread, I think it came out as plain white. Even though there were three pieces of cheese on the sandwich they were so small I couldn't tastse any cheese. Very ordinary. Will not return.
It was 5:00 and they were out of tomato soup... You would think this soup of all soups would be on hand at all times, especially during the dinner hour. I was very disappointed.
Also, if your name is cheeseMELT I would think it would be safe to assume the cheese would actually be melted. But it was not. It was cold cheese on toasted bread. I have never been so disappointed in a grilled cheese in my life.
I thought it was ok, but a little prizey for a grilled cheese sandwich. It could have used more cheese and meat on it. It was a pretty "thin" sandwich.
The service can be verrrrrrry slow. Make sure to go during off peak times.
The loaded grilled cheese was very tasty, french fries as well. Thought it was a little pricey though.

Cheesemelt Cafe gets its name from its fantastically gooey flagship: the grilled cheese sandwich. But this gourmet creation isn't exactly what Mom used to make. The cheese, for starters, is definitely a step up, with varieties that include horseradish cheddar, mild havarti, and chipotle pepper jack. Throw in some roasted turkey or shaved prosciutto and wedge it all between two hearty slices of sourdough or marble rye, and you'll see why everyone's so excited about this new addition to Madison's dining scene. The cafe also serves healthy salads, steamy cups of soup, and throwback sides of applesauce with a splash of cinnamon.
