After the success of Gallo Nero I and II, Gallo Nero III opened in the West Village, bringing Italian food and imported wines to an upscale bistro setting. Guests here nibble on chef Augusto's mushroom risotto drizzled with truffle olive oil, blue snapper in a lemon-caper sauce, and tender short ribs paired with braised cabbage. Their meals pair with wines imported from regions all over Italy, including Amarone della Valpolicella from Veneto, which is considered by many to be one of Italy's best wines.
