This restaurant is long closed. I just wanted to mark it redeemed since I used it.

Service was inexperienced, slow, rude and careless. Management only made excuses without apologies after serving my dish with food I specifically told the server that I was extremely allergic to and had explicitly asked to have my dish prepared without.

I was so shocked how down hill this place had gone. We had been there about a year before. The sushi was just a notch below sushi ran at that time. The decor was fresh and the service was excellent. So naturally when I saw the groupon offer, I jumped at the chance. I was shocked at how poor the service was. We sat at our table for nearly 40 min before our order was even taken. It wasn't just us, it seemed to be the norm for all tables. The sushi was disgusting. Huge chuncks of previously frozen slop, enveloped in a monster casing of rice.It was just shocking that it could even be the same place. Really sad.

They need to be more honest about when they will be getting their liquor license back.

Wait staff is too few. Only going back to finish off my remaining groupon. While the food is lovely and beest in Marin. Service is slow and the worst ever experienced.

I have one more Groupon and I can't give it away. There is nothing extraordinary or even special about Tsukiji. While the fish is good and fresh, it is overpriced and small compared to other places that I frequent. I have had better. The service is fair, but so unobtrusive to a point of almost being self serve. After $95 dollars worth of sushi, my 12 year old daughter and I were still hungry. We ended up eating more sushi at our regular spot.

Service was pleasant but slow and disorganized; sushi was not very flavorful- perhaps not very fresh. I bought 2 coupons so I will return for second try

No need to overpay at Sushi Ran when this world-class sushi bar is just down the street. Tsukiji never fails to amaze, as Haru (previously chef at Sushi Ran) and his team go out of their way to obtain some of the most delicious, freshest and often hard-to-find varieties of fish available. We ate there last night and were once again blown away by the quality and variety of fish, and always leave satisfied both by the food and by the reasonable prices (again, a strong vote against Sushi Ran on this count). For those more concerned about quality of fish than "seeing and being seen", Tsukiji is the ONLY choice in southern Marin. I'm admittedly hesitant to post this review, as it will likely add some wait time for the bar; however, as a longtime customer, I can say without question that it's worth every second of waiting to experience the gifts Haru and his team have to offer true sushi aficionados. Tell Haru that Mitch sent you, and you're bound to be treated right. ;)

From Our Editors

Roy Lui and Chanel Liu, expert fish purveyors and Tsukiji Sushi Bar & Restaurant's proprietors, place veteran chef Haruo Komatsu at the helm of a kitchen stocked with fresh fish and tender Koshihikari rice. Sourced from the enormous Tsukiji fish market in Tokyo, sushi staples including albacore tuna, salmon, and eel curl up in sleeping bags of salty rice and seaweed alongside more exotic offerings such as sea urchin, flying-fish roe, giant clam, and lightly grilled submarine. At the sushi bar, chef Komatsu awes onlookers in seven nearby seats as he deftly slices rolls and doles them out for immediate consumption.
