We had a pleasant experience. The owner welcomed us and came over once or twice to see if everything was ok. The waiter was attentive but not overbearing. We will go back again. Bill

From Our Editors

Wali may be the co-owner of Azzurro's Pizzeria Restaurant Bar, but his position as sous chef that shows he really knows his way around an Italian entree. (Wali's been providing such delicacies to Long Island residents for more than 30 years.) His chicken francese comes skillfully battered and sautéed in white wine and lemon, while his veal rollatini mingles with fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, and a mushroom-marsala sauce. Diners at this Italian eatery should be equally impressed by the pizzas, which are usually handled by co-owner Carmine. He churns out mouthwatering Napolean and thin-crust Margherita pies—and that's not even counting the Sicilian, deep-dish, and grandma-pie styles. Whether you opt for pasta, a slice, or a hero, it's best paired with a bottle of wine or a house cocktail.
