Warrior Dash challenges entrants to navigate 12 extreme obstacles along a rustic 3.31-mile course. Though they certainly challenge participants' strength and agility, the obstacles primarily test boldness. Runners climb sheer walls and slither across muddy fields crisscrossed with barbed wire. The obstacles remain shrouded in mystery, with only ominous hints up until the day of the race. Participants should prepare to swim, brave heights, climb, and get very, very muddy. Lifeguards and staffers work to keep racers safe, and enthused crews pass out Warrior helmets, T-shirts, and medals to finishers, who must then navigate a raucous party complete with live music, turkey legs, and beer for racers of age. Like the idea of having a pet rock, the adrenaline-pumping race has grown more popular annually, currently traveling across the United States, Canada, Ireland, the United Kingdom, and Australia.
Red Frog Events, the organizers of Warrior Dash, encourage participants to raise funds for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital by registering as a St. Jude Warrior and fundraising. Only racers who raise the suggested $300 will be eligible for special race-day perks, such as free food and drinks, private showers and bathrooms, and a private bag check.
