Pasties are really tasty, and the special "apply pie" filling in the corner is a great final bite or two. Meat inside is tender, and has a nice ratio with the veggies. The place itself is spacious and clean, and as a bonus, the tv up on the wall plays dvds of some of the best classic comedy and other shows from the 70s and 80s... so a bright, happy place. Also, they offer multiple flavors of fancy pop... ("soda" to some of you). Great little place in the little alley next to the Varsity theater.
Awesome, very inexpensive. Full of ingredients. The service was awesome. Large variety to choose from.
If you had nothing to compare with them, I'm sure they would be delicious. I grew up up on them. My mom's pie crust was to die for. These past us had a large variety of different flavors to choose from. Many, I would like to try.
The lamb pasty was wonderful!
From Our Editors
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
We are a very small hole-in-the-wall shop operated exclusively by an extremely friendly uncle-and-nephew team. The pasties here also include a bit of apple pie inside of one corner for a built-in dessert.
What is one of your most popular offerings? How is it prepared?
Our steak and stilton blue cheese is a popular favorite of ours. We use authentic Tuxford and Tebbutt stilton blue, which has a unique cheddar flavor with a mild blue cheese background.
What do you love most about your job?
Our favorite part of running our little shop is the people we meet. We have formed friendships with many of our regulars and are always excited to meet new people.
