The brain-child of famed endurance athlete Mark Sisson and lifelong restaurateur Mario Altiery, Primal Kitchen fills the gap between fast-casual restaurants and healthful, paleo-approved diets. Sisson realized that until clean, nutrient-rich food choices became easily available to—and affordable for—the masses, a proper diet would be out of most people's reach. Across the country, Primal Kitchen is gathering organic ingredients, culled from local farms whenever possible, eschewing GMOs and processed oils in favor of pure meats and vegetables. Morning till night, the cooks prepare balanced meals that infuse diners with energy and promote weightloss. Dishes like:
- Caveman breakfast: three free-range eggs (any style), two slices of crispy applewood-smoked bacon, and one house-made sausage patty
- Five-spice salmon: salmon rubbed with an Asian-inspired house-specialty spice blend cooked in coconut amino lime sauce, and served alongside sautéed garlic spinach and cauliflower rice.
- Chicken fingers: just the thing for picky eaters, this kids' menu favorite breads boneless chicken breast with almond and tapioca flour and comes with a sweet-and-zesty honey-mustard dipping sauce.
