In 2005, Justin Whitfield unveiled his first-ever restaurant, The End Zone Sports Bar & Grill. Business initially boomed, but when Justin invited his pal Shawn Machado to co-run the place, the duo's contentious relationship threatened to end the bar for good. That's when Jon Taffer and Bar Rescue stepped in to calm heated tempers with tough love, rather than just spraying the entire staff with a fire extinguisher.
In the process, Jon Taffer helped transform the struggling End Zone into Houston Sports Hub, which earned more than $2,000 in its first hour. True to its name, the bar's sport theme stretches to every inch of its d?cor, from baseball-bat door handles and stadium-style seating to big games being shown on myriad flat-screen TVs. The menu also specializes in sporting-event favorites, from franks smothered in sauerkraut and spicy brown mustard to cocktails made with orange-flavored vodka and cotton candy.
