As a child in Colombia, it was common for Dr. Lopez's family to treat ailments with herbs and natural home remedies—in spite of the mainstream medicine readily available. She eventually turned away from natural remedies and became an assistant professor of microbiology and biotechnology in Columbia.
She later moved to Canada, where she worked as a research scientist for many years, but her interest in natural medicine was sparked again when she felt desperate to help her young son overcome his asthma.
When homeopathic treatments worked better than anything else, she felt determined to help other families receive the same level of care. At My Family Homeopath Clinic, Dr. Lopez remains dedicated to helping treat patients in a gentle, natural way. She also offers holistic nutrition, healthy lifestyle advice, and the Bowen Technique, a bodywork theory that uses a few series of gentle moves over muscle and soft tissue to help promote healing and alleviate pain.
