From Our Editors
Peter and Diane Finch have been asked to numerous weddings over the years—weddings that, in reality, probably would not have happened without them. This is all thanks to the Single Professionals' Network, the organization they founded in 1991. In doing so, they provided the city's population of single people over the age of 35 with a place to socialize other than the grocery store or single-adult section of the library. Every week, SPN organizes events at some of the greater Toronto area's nicest venues, from private golf courses to swanky hotels. There, hundreds of 30-, 40-, and 50-year-old singles gather to dance, sip drinks, and meet new friends. Casual by nature, many of the events even feature extras, such as live DJs and hors d'oeuvres.
