Combining the full-body workouts of surfing with the saltwater-free setting of solid land, NJ Surf Fitness provides visitors of all ages and fitness levels with a creative, engaging exercise regimen. Classes use stationary equipment that mimics the feel of a surfboard on the water. Maintaining balance atop the slightly unstable boards strengthens core muscles while improving coordination and spatial awareness. The instructors incorporate exercises based on actual surfing techniques such as springing up from a board to a standing position and lassoing nearby dolphins, although planks and other traditional exercises round out the classes, too. To ensure that NJ Surf Fitness caters to students of all ages and fitness levels, the studio offers sessions that introduce visitors to the equipment while developing balance, providing a cardio workout, and building muscle tone.
