Serenity Salt Cave, Murfreesboro

Dr. Margaret Smiechowski designed Serenity Salt with temperatures and humidity levels that mimic those of natural salt caves in the Ukraine, where salt therapy originated. In this cave, though, soothing music fills the air, and the walls, floors, and even the air are awash in pure, pink-hued Himalayan salt rather than Ukrainian sodium chloride. An estimated 12,000 pounds of Himalayan salt encompasses the room, bearing 84 minerals and trace elements. All of them enrich skin and flow through respiratory systems, killing bacteria and fighting ailments that range from allergies or bronchitis to depression.
