Please do not provide Groupon's for this restaurant anymore, the food is very poor quality. It was so terrible I would appreciate a Groupon refund.

They should use Margarita glasses for that drink I mean they are an Mexican restaurant without Margarita glass? Charging for refill on Sodas is Tacky. Most of the plate was filled with Refried beans instead of rice or meat and even the burrito had about 3 pieces of meat and all the rest of refried beans. Even chips and salsa was not good as the chips were stale. I use to love this place but would not go back.

They really need to clean it up add new tables and lighting. It is too old and dirty looking. Time to put some money into it

It was very warm in the restaurant to start off with and the food was less than favorable. The salsa was not homemade at all, store bought at best. There was not enough salt (I never use salt) to even fix it. I payed the $2.50 for guacamole and it too was terrible, it was watery and tasteless. The food took over 1/2 hour to get to us and it was terrible. The rice must have been from a box which is probably why it took 30 mins, cook time for the rice. The food was hot so that was good but overall the taste of the food or lack of is a reason I would never, ever go there again nor would I recommend it. P.S I did not try it but next door to Viva Zapata's is a small Mexican restaurant I am sure would have been better.

From Our Editors

Since 1974, Viva Zapata’s interior has cloaked diners in rustic comfort, complete with brick walls and wooden beams from a 200-year-old barn. A suit of armor stands guard at the eatery’s entrance, scaring away door-to-door jousters but allowing all others to enter the softly lit dining area bedecked with Mexican tapestries and antiques. Candlelight flickers across wooden tables that support homemade enchiladas, burritos, and marinated steak flanked by grilled peppers and onions. Baskets of complimentary peanuts beckon guests to throw spent shells on the ground as they did in the days before legumes grew naturally in prepackaged canisters, and barrel lamps at the bar illuminate a selection of domestic and imported beers and freshly concocted margaritas.
