The moderator was amazing. You can tell she did her research and told a truth many of us are afraid to face. She didn't sugar coat anything! Thank you

It was very underwhelming. Some costumes, but nothing worth spending your money or time on.

Whole walk around took maybe 20 minutes. There really needs to be more information by each display. I've never been to a "museum" with so little information. I wanted to know how the costumes were made and I wanted more information next to each display. The 1.5 hour film seemed interesting, but we didn't stay to watch as there is no place to sit. They do have a few amazing costume pieces, and a large dress up area where you can take pictures. BUT I wanted more MUSEUM experience. I'm not sure that someone not familiar with Mardi Gras would get a true sense of Mardi Gras from the exhibits or get much out of visiting.

My friends and I had a ball in this Museum. The costumes are Amazing. We got to play dress up too. The gift shop has some pretty nice unique items. Check it out. We bought tickets off Groupon. Totally worth it.

I really enjoyed this museum. There were a lot of great costumes, but I wish more information was provided even if you opted out of the tour. Trying the costumes on was my favorite part!

We had a very interesting talk with the Museum Doyenne. She gave us an extensive cultural history of Mardi Gras and the people of Lousianna from New Orleans to the rural areas.

The Mardi Gras Museum was terrific! My wife and I were given a tour by the Museum Director! We learned so much about the history of the costumes and the various parades before Fat Tuesday. We loved it!!

From Our Editors

Mardi Gras is one of the major attractions and cultural touchstones of New Orleans. The Mardi Gras Museum lets visitors explore the rich history of the annual celebration through the often elaborately designed costumes. From the regalia of the Kings and Queens to the feathered and beaded looks of the Indians, the vibrant creativity of the event is on full display. But it's not just to look at; the interactive costume closet lets visitors try on a piece of history and snap pics to remember.
