All sushi rolls feature rice and a seaweed wrapper, so what really counts is what’s on the inside. At Akura, the chefs craft sushi with an extensive variety of fillings, creating a menu that likely covers every roll a customer could dream up. The extensive list includes crowd favorites such as the spicy tuna roll and the salmon avocado roll, but what really stands out is their selection of specialty rolls. Diners can choose from seven different tempura rolls, as well as 13 different vegetarian rolls, including the mango-avocado roll and rolls with more traditional fillings such as dried gourd or sour plum. Thirty special rolls offer creative combinations such as the spring tuna roll with tuna, avocado, cucumber, and asparagus wrapped in rice paper, as well as the big lobster roll with lobster tempura, avocado, asparagus, mango, caviar, spicy seaweed, and sauce. Beyond sushi, the chefs offer other Japanese favorites such as teriyaki, hibachi, and katsu entrees. Diners can finish off meals with a variety of Japanese desserts, such as tempura ice cream, mocha ice cream, or banana tempura a la mode.
