Antonella's Barber Shop has been around since 1930, and, "With its twin candy-stripe barber poles and traditional leather chairs, the shop certainly looks the part," writes Amanda Theunissen of New York magazine. Antonella has been in charge since 1985 and proudly hangs autographed pictures of Mayors Giuliani and Bloomberg getting haircuts in her chair or while balanced atop motorcycles. Haircuts and hot-towel shaves include a razor finish, and waxing and threading services are available to eliminate unwanted hair on the face and body. For women, the staff offers nailcare, waxing, and facials, and the stylists straighten hair using Brazilian blowout products.
