From Our Editors
Under the exposed ductwork and cherry-red hanging lamps of Brush's high ceiling, Brandon Shin and his team of top-flight stylists transform hair into beautiful 'dos. Trained as the right hand man of legendary stylist Frédéric Fekkai, Shin has travelled throughout the country delivering seminars to aspiring celebrity stylists while contributing his talents to such outfits as Vogue and The Oprah Winfrey Show.
Now in his own salon, he teams up with fellow Fekkai veteran Michelle, whose alchemical talent with hair color has earned her visits from such clients as Sigourney Weaver, Bon Jovi, and Georgina Chapman. A master of the delicate, brush-based balayage technique, Michelle and her colorists craft highlights that resemble the sun's natural lightening effects rather than the monochrome left by foil. The sleek, modern salon welcomes guests with a distinctive, starburst light over the orchid-dotted front desk, opening into a black-and-white work area that accentuates the space's spare lines and hides zebras despite the strict no-pet policy.
