The fruit was delicious, the chocolate was very, very good. They use a good amount of chocolate, but not where its over-whelming and can't taste the fruit.

I was very taken back by the fact that they charged me tax when I went to pick up my order. With any other experience I've had with groupon the voucher covers the cost, including tax. I feel that this information should have been written in the groupon before I decided to make the purchase. An extra $1.50 doesn't seem like a lot but I was expecting to only pay $12. That was the only disappointment.

This was a great Groupon. I really love this place. I will be going back. I used it to give the fruit as a birthday gift and she said it was better than Edible Arrangements.

From Our Editors

The offerings at Forbidden Fruit NYC my be straightforward—fruit dipped in chocolate—but the decadence added to every order has earned a trove of press mentions, including highlights in TimeOut New York, People, and US Weekly. Staff members slice fruit at an open air counter so customers can watch as their treats are layered into cups or threaded onto skewers before receiving a toothsome drizzle of Belgian chocolate. They also hand-dip fresh strawberries and bananas into milk, dark, or white chocolate before adorning them with toasted walnuts or sprinkles. The shop stays open late—1 a.m. during the week and 4 a.m. on weekends—so customers can snag a late night snack to feed all those sheep they have to count.
