It’s easy to disregard Prosperity Dumpling in Chinatown when passing by. The tarnished yellow awning looks little different than the dozens of others in the neighborhood, and the tiny interior might not inspire any sun-dappled magazine photoshoot spreads, but there’s no denying the food being served here. Look for extremely cheap and delicious dim sum stuffed with juicy fillings of chives, pork and vegetables; steamed, boiled or fried, it’s hard to go wrong. The menu above the order counter rounds out the fare with wonton soup, beef noodles and sesame pancakes – the challenge with each order is to resist attacking them immediately, as they are served piping hot. Expect lines at the door at meal times.
