The Three Faces of Rite Aid
Launched in 2014 Rite Aid’s wellness+ program is a points-based rewards program with discounts, savings incentives, and some nifty self-care benefits. The free program operates through the wellness+ card and online dashboard, and includes perks like 24-hour access to pharmacists via an online chat portal. The wellness+ diabetes program connects cardholders with diabetes specialists and resources, while the wellness+ 65 and up program offers free in-person medical consultations and monthly discounts for seniors.
As part of its transition from drugstore to Wellness Store, Rite Aid’s commitment to wellness has materialized in the form of remodeled locations. That means more than just wider aisles and lowered shelves, though you’ll notice things are a little more spacious and easy to reach. The wellness stores feature upgrades like organic and gluten-free groceries, all-natural personal-care products, or smoking-cessation booths.
True to its roots, the pharmacy remains an important element of Rite Aids everywhere. And improvements have been made to enhance the experience of Rite Aid’s pharmacy customers. The wellness stores now staff “wellness ambassadors:” liaisons between the pharmacist and the public that answer questions and host health events. Rite Aid also offers an advocacy program for the Affordable Care Act, including resources and a hotline to guide clients through the task of enrolling for health insurance.
