In 2007, Jessi Walter Brelsford founded Taste Buds Kitchen, envisioning cooking classes for all ages that were fun and didn't make preparing food seem like a chore. Her vision came to successful fruition, launching Taste Buds into a national franchise. The kitchens host kids' camps, workshops, and classes during the day, getting budding chefs to learn how to prepare ingredients, decorate gingerbread houses, and bake treats for Cookies for Kids' Cancer, a charity that provides research grants to pediatric cancer centers. After little ones have their fun, the kitchen literally transforms for grownup students, lifting tables and chairs that were once kid-height to accommodate even the tallest adults (Jessi is 6'1" and her husband is 6'5"). Most adult classes, including Tailgating 101 and Tapas Españolas, are BYOB, meaning students should feel free to unwind and socialize as they learn new tricks of the culinary trade. The kitchen can also host private parties that range from bachelorette gatherings to product launches.
