Located in the heart of the Financial District, The Ketch tempts diners with seasonally rotating menus of hearty cuisine that’s ideal for both a power lunch or refined dinner. Grilled Angus steaks and organic chicken appear in select entrees, but seafood is the real star. Maine lobster rolls and the maryland crab cakes draw inspiration for marine locales close to New York, while grilled, blackened, stir-fried, pan-roasted, and raw fish and seafood demonstrate the range of flavors inherent in New American cuisine. If the seafood-heavy menu doesn’t make The Ketch’s maritime inclinations apparent enough, then the bright and airy dining room’s décor will remove all doubt. A gigantic glass display case features intricate scale models of sailboats and sail-like squares of canvas hang from the sky-blue ceiling. One entire room is even wallpapered with large scraps of nautical charts and maps.
