Toby's Estate Coffee is a small batch roaster located in Brooklyn, New York that uses roast sustainably sourced coffee from Colombia, Kenya, Honduras, Guatemala, and Brazil. As roasters and baristas, the staff of Toby's Estate Coffee believes that each coffee can tell a story. They travel the world sourcing coffee, celebrating quality and complexity. The space they chose for this café and roastery was a former meatpacking factory, though it now gives off a light, airy feel with tall windows and warm wood accents. A long, communal table and Chesterfield sofa lend an affable charm as patrons sip steaming cups of coffee. Toby’s also serves a smattering of seasonal food. One of the signature sandwiches is the scrambled egg roll with espresso-lacquered bacon, and past menus have included whole-grain toast topped with Vegemite, a favorite Australian food spread. To quell sweet-tooth cravings, try the chocolate chip cookies, banana bread, blueberry muffins, apple bran muffins, or jalapeño muffins, all baked in house.
