From: C Diamond King [ Sent: Wednesday, March 9, 2016 6:51 AM To: Subject: Service Animals Outline from The United States Department of Justice Civil Rights Division Department of Justice ADA Good Morning Dr. Targett, I am writing regarding my experience at The Bob Carpenter Center on March 8, 2016. I took my son for an outing to the Harlem Globe Trotters Game. Upon entering the facility, I was greeted by Mr. Ed Herr and Mr. Frantzer LeBlanc, both advised me that my service animal must have either a jacket identifying him as a service animal, or I must show papers to prove that he is a service animal. Mr. LeBlanc advised me that "my service animal did not look like the typical service animal that he was familiar with," and denied my son and I admittance. We were detained from entering the pre show game, until we could provide proper documentation. I provided Mr. Leblanc and Mr. Herr with an identification card, additionally I sent my son to the car to retrieve the paperwork I have attached via this email. Dr. Targett I have provided a handout, from the United States Department of Justice Civil Rights Divisions' Website, outlining the ADA requirements. I must start off by noting, I do not look like an individual with a disability, my dog does not look like a typical service animal. These employees actions, caused my son and I to miss the segment where he would have spent time prior to the game, spending time with the Harlem Globe Trotters, as this is what I paid for. It is my hope that the University of Delaware is one that practices diversity as well as inclusion, and welcomes all individuals, regardless of race, creed, religion, or disability. Thank you kindly for your attention, as well as follow up to the concerns that I have addressed in this communication. Best, Cheryl King

Great family evening! There were lots of kids in basketball uniforms excitedly waiting for the doors to open for the pre game magic (which was well worth the extra fee). The Globetrotters know how to entertain AND impress people of all ages. We were also pleased with the wide variety of foods offered for sale. Highly recommended event!

I have contacted Mr. David Arthur, the assistant athletic director advising him of the muffled audio we experienced in section 7. Although he works for your organization, he advised me that there was nothing he could do and I should contact the Globetrotters organization. I am not satisfied with this resolution. The audio equipment is the property of Bob Carpenter Center, the organization of which he is employed: BUT I did, and I feel that i am on ignore. Please tell me who I should/can reach out to? Thanks.
