The fish was good but nothing fantastic, the fries were DELICIOUS, the hush puppies were not so good- something in the batter made them kind of odd, maybe jalapenos? Whatever it was, I was not a fan.

I had the cod and fries and it was delicious but I ordered that because they were out of catfish and fish tacos. Would definitely go back!

When you want perfect fried fish, ideal. Inexpensive. Expanding the menu slightly - key lime pie dessert option, salad, a veggie - would be good but they do what they do perfectly. The daily gumbo which I really like could be slightly spicier; they might offer a bowl size for those who can't eat fried food. The etoufee was terrific.

Small and not much many tables. Only bottled water. No fountain drinks. Food good for fair price. Limited menu. I would go back. Neighborhoodsy.

From Our Editors

Bred on Louisiana-style cooking, local restaurateur Grant Gieseler was dismayed by the lack of quality southern fare in the Cincinnati area. He and his business partner Blake Gieseler founded Bayou Fish House to introduce the area to fresh fried fish and hearty gumbo. Diners can grab meals to go or kick back at the bar or seating area and tell exaggerated tales about the biggest fish they ever ate. The eatery's walls sport a paddle, a life preserver, and various aquatic tchotchkes to remind fish of their home.
