Pho is the ultimate Vietnamese comfort food—at least if you get it from someplace that does it right. Pholicious has the preparation down pat, with a recipe that dates back to the 1965 start of the family business in South Vietnam. Now, the fast-casual eatery serves up this fragrant, substantial rice-noodle soup at mall food courts and other locations in 13 U.S. states and counting.
Diners can start with a fresh spring roll or crispy egg roll before moving on to the main event. That would be one of the many combinations they can create out of three types of broth and about 10 protein options—from lean beef and chicken to fish balls and tofu with vegetables. And that's not even counting the potential add-ons, which include bean sprouts, lime juice, basil, chilies, hoisin sauce, and sriracha.
