It was lame, nothing frightening about it and it was so quick. We went 3 years ago and it was great! Bring back whoever set it up then. Don't think we'll waste the money this year, no worth the chance.

Fortress of Nightmare is organized and staffed by volunteers. They do this to raise money for the maintenance of Fort Adams. Which I applaud. However the title of this event and the description that they give is not true. This is great for children ages 5 to maybe 8. The price is really steep for what it is. I drove there from Plymouth, Ma. The 2 hour ride was fine because I was excited. The ad's and the flyers hyped this place up. To my dismay it was not at all like they said. First, we waited about 40 minutes in line just to go through a short maze. Then we stood in another line for 25 minutes to go through the tunnels. Just a stroll through a tunnel, that is all that it was. I think that one person popped out to scare you, but mostly it was a failed attempt. Not to mention that I was scolded and yelled at by a volunteer because I was chewing gum (I do not chew obnoxiously, I was advised that it was a nasty habit for a lady to chew gum!) and I had my phone in my hand while standing in line waiting. I was made to put my phone away and throw my gum in the trash! Again we were waiting in line! So to some it up, drove over 2 hours, stood in line for 1 1/2 hours, got yelled at, walked through for the 5 minutes that it took, then left very disappointed. Waste of time!

Save your money. It’s changed, not enough scary parts and they have taken away the laser game for zombies. They want to to pay for the paranormal room, which is a rip off.

It was not worth the money but if you want to support the up keep of the fort anyways it might be worth it.

I waited for years to go to this venue. I expected the historical ambiance alone would be amazing.... and it was. The fort was amazing. Ive been there in the daytime so i had high expectations for the evening of "fright". The 3d section provided glasses, but they did little to nothing. Half the rooms in that section werent even blacklit to see the paint. The paint that WAS there must have been the wrong kind bc NOTHING stood out. It doesnt have to be AMAZING, but it was just NOT 3D in ANY room. The sections that had no lights showed NOTHING and we just walked through. The section that was supposed to have "haunts" had 3 total. We waited for 10 mins (got there 1st thing so we could travel to Abington Mass for another) and we were outta there in 10 minutes. I really felt let down by this one. I had waited so long to go to it. This attraction isnt just set up in a parking lot, they have the BEST BACKDROP EVER, they just couldn't execute. Staff was super friendly, cant take away from them... just wanted and HOPED it would be so much more. DISAPPOINTED
