There are bears at Jellystone Park Camp Resort at Raintree Lake—well, at least one. He hangs around the flagpole posing for photos with children, and, almost always, wears a dapper necktie.
Yogi Bear, Jellystone’s resident ursine population, welcomes families to campgrounds that entertain young and old alike with arts, crafts, and other activities. Rustically inclined campers can set up tents, whereas pull-through campsites offer electric, water, and sewer hookups. For camping with access to modern amenities, there are spacious cabins built to withstand the mightiest huffing and puffing from cartoon enemies.
A pool, mini golf course, and hiking trail fuel hours of family fun between hayrides or fishing trips in search of bass, bluegill or catfish in the stocked, 9-acre Raintree Lake. Located 30 miles from Louisville, the campground can act as a launch pad for excursions to the races at Churchill Downs, the baseball factory at the Louisville Slugger Museum, or the goatee-waxing workshops at the Colonel Harland Sanders Museum.
