The guides at M4 Riversurfing set students loose on intense whitewater rapids and narrow canyon rivers armed with only a riverboard. After donning gear and going over safety at the launch site, the group trains for 30 minutes to get acquainted with paddling and manipulating the board—particularly necessary when matched up with a bucking board that hasn't been broken. Participants then ride deep into the forest along an adrenaline-inducing four-kilometre stretch that includes Class III and IV rapids which feature large waves and require sharp maneuvering. Throughout the experience, the guides keep a close eye on the proceedings, relying on their certifications in swift-water rescue to keep the experience safe.
