Massage therapist arrived 15 minutes LATE (while I waiting outside her closed door where a clipboard with 2 forms had been waiting for me to fill out-one, with personal information; the other; with physical body aches/pains/needs...! I've filled them out but, sue to therapist's TARDINESS, I don't seem to recall her even having looked at/having read it...! NO WONDER that I've received "a GENERIC" FULL-BODY massage rather than one FOCUSING on areas of TENSION!!!!
When first shaking therapist's hand, I could (surprisingly!) notice her TOUGH hand skin-such as one caused by (unlotioned...) menial labor which, upon inquiring, i was told had NO bearing on her massage (when lubricant was used)-which, to a certain degree, turned out to be true!
Even though therapist's appeared to have been "going through something-tough time/spell, etc...-&, in this sense, aren't we all!?-&, I try to remember to connect to my humanity/compassion!), she seemed TIRED & NOT very ENTHUSED/PASSIONATE about massage, with VERY LIGHT TOUCH!
Also, I am, personally, VERY WELL-VERSED with MANY KINDS of massages (Deep Tissue; Swedish, Shiatsu; Thai; Chinese, etc,,,. etc...), I was SPECIFICALLY looking for Thai massage (which THIS therapist PURPORTED to provide-yet, NOTHING in her massage qualified for Thai massage method. So, this amounts to FALSE ADVERTISING!!! I DON'T know anything about this therapist's CREDENTIALS &/or HOW Groupon screens therapists, accordingly but, CLEARLY, there is something DEFINITELY WRONG with how the system CURRENTLY works...!
Additionally, in Thai massage, the therapist occasionally steps onto bed to manipulate body parts (pulling arms back); apply knee or hand pressure onto body parts-but, EVEN if this therapist DID WANT to do it, she could NOT, due to the NARROWNESS of the massage bed. Also, I am of average weight & the bed tended to make crackling noises-oh..., speaking about noises (in a massage "parlor" which is supposed to provide quiet & relaxation...-the "room" the therapist is renting, I'd say, is in a complex along with quite a few OTHER businesses-among which is a CNA-/nurse-aid/assistant school which had many students & despite signs indicating the need to be quiet, talking voices could be heard (especially, since massage room's walls do NOT go ALL THE WAY UP into the ceiling but leave some 10-20 inch OPEN SPACE from the ceiling (through which any noise can be heard...!).
Lastly, the massage "room" space looked CLUTTERED & VERY BUSY to the eye (as soon as space was entered, I was immediately, somewhat STARTLED by how overwhelming the room looked-NOT knowing what to lay eyes or focus on...! The massage bed also looked "cluttered" (I mean: loaded with covers-top one-a THICK & HEAVY cover which therapist had KEPT on me & I asked her to REMOVE (to to weight & warmth...!).
In summary: unfortunately, Tera (therapist)-you are NOT gonna see me again... ;)
