After an oil recession left Ray and Shirley Wade reeling, they went all-out on a new venture: snow cones. Family friends were hesitant, suggesting they should get a "real job"––but these weren't just any snow cones. The duo worked closely with professional food chemists to engineer adult flavors such as non-alcoholic brandy and coffee, all of which helped usher in Okie Sno's mammoth success. Now more than two decades later, the company has two locations, which offer more than 30 unique flavors in traditional and sugar free.
