We use computers for everything nowadays, so it's no surprise that computers have become an integral part of producing music. BeatsBlueprint teaches people how the process works, taking them through the steps necessary to create music using their personal computers.
BeatsBlueprint's project-based online classes teach complete beginners the technical concepts of music theory, as well as how to apply that knowledge to create everything from hip-hop to pop to dubstep. Classes include a combination of video tutorials, quizzes, and mix lessons. By the end of the course, students are able to create their own complete song.
BeatsBlueprint relies on the Ableton program—music-sequencer software with a digital audio workstation. Students can get a 30-day free trial of Ableton, which is plenty of time for them to complete the course. If they want to continue creating music, their newfound knowledge can be adapted to any music software.
