Melinda is wonderful! She took time with me to figure out the right color and cut for me I've been back since using my Groupon and plan to continue as her client

I called to make the appointment, (I had to call 5 times to get a human.) The first thing the receptionist asked was "are you a Groupon???" This, she explained, was so she could "match me with the correct stylist." The salon itself is nice. After the usual meet and greet with my stylist we began the process of cutting and coloring my hair. She assured me of her experience and licensing in multiple States. Her exact words were "Oh, I know what I'm doing." Our initial conversation in regards to color was quite clear. I told her I did not like my hair too light and gave her the exact level I wanted. After the base-coat, which appeared very nice, although wet, she cut my hair for about 4 minutes. Then the "MEDIUM PARTIAL highlighting" process began. She used quite a few foils, (I do not normally get highlights but trusted her as I had been clear in my direction as to shade and color.) She put me under a hairdryer which was VERY HOT. I had to shift position multiple times as it was burning me! I was beginning to get a bit frantic when she finally came to get me. I had expected that she would cut again. She did not. I noticed the highlights were very blonde. The lighting in the salon did not reveal just how blonde. She added about a tablespoon of keratin, a lot of product, I thought. Still my hair seemed very coarse as she began to blow-dry my hair. She then used her curling iron (someone else's, I guess because she couldn't find hers.) In retrospect I believe the keratin and iron were used to smooth the hair, or should I say straw. Afterwards she explained how little she makes; "groupon gets _%, the salon owner gets _% then she splits the rest, etc. Feeling badly for her I gave her a very nice cash tip not realizing then how horribly my hair had turned out. When I returned home to my usual duties and caught my reflection in the mirror I was shocked and absolutely crushed. I look like a cross between Linda Evans and Phyliss Diller! Further-to-that, my hair is like straw. It is burned beyond repair right at the roots! Right at the part area on top of my head and beyond! It is as brittle as hair can be. Completely frizzled, direct application of Argan Oil on the frizzled spots will not lie the hair down! It is like brillo! I cannot brush my hair; go out in the sun (I live in Florida,) and have to have this professionally repaired. That will be costly and will only mitigate the issue because once hair is damaged this bad, it has to grow out. I emailed the stylist immediately that evening; no reply. The next evening I emailed the salon manager of the establishment two times, attaching before and after photos; no reply to either communication. I emailed the manager again asking for a response to which I have received none. I would never go back to this salon, ever. I'm so disappointed and absolutely devastated that I ever walked through the door of that place. The owner clearly doesn't care about their clients! How can you allow hair stylists who are so inept represent your business? Don't you screen them??? This stylist actually said to me that she doesn't consider hairstyling to be an actual job. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. Groupon was wonderful in addressing this problem as best they could. I have no problem with them.

My stylist was kind of rude, the atmosphere was just kind of cold and unwelcoming. My hair turned out ok, but the stylist didn't really listen to the length I wanted and it was a little longer than I'd hoped

Kim was an awful nail technician with a disgusting attitude. My shellac started peeling after 5 hours and when I returned to show her the awful work she had done on my nails she was completely unapologetic and downright rude! I don't return to places that choose to employ bottom of the barrel people like Kim.

From Our Editors

The sounds of shears snipping hair and files brushing against nails fill the contemporary, red-walled interior of Blades Salon & Day Spa, where licensed staffers blend styling directions from clients with their own treatment expertise. Stylists and makeup artists pace around chairs as they cut and color hair or add a touch of blush to complexions. Spa Joy thrones massage feet during soothing pedicures, and technicians stationed at sleek wood manicure desks thoroughly groom fingernails. Across the salon, aestheticians swaddle faces in exclusively contracted Phytomer products while massage therapists untangle knotted muscles and legs tied together by prankster friends.
